Beauty pageant questions from women empowerment, roles & contributions, teen questions, situations & conditions, social issues, leadership, and science.
Beauty pageant questions have been the bottleneck of most candidates because the question and answer portion is often the determining factor for pageant winners and their ranking. This segment is the most crucial and sensitive part of the competition. While it is true that catwalk, stage presence and personality make for a perfect epitome of a beauty queen, it would not be complete if the woman to embody the role is lacking in wit and intelligence. It is expected that the pageant committee and the organization who initiated the competition would want their title winner to be beautiful in the holistic sense of the word: having beauty coupled with wit, personality, and character.
Many girls have failed in this part of the competition. It isn’t that they lack the intelligence or wit, nor is it that they have the wrong coach – but because they have either become too confident having qualified for the competition or did not give much importance in studying beauty pageant questions.
To some, catwalk, a pretty face, good skin, and posture are all there is to it in a pageant. These types of candidates take everything else for granted; they take the pageant criteria nonchalantly and go into battle without full knowledge of what is to come or where the real competition lies.
This part of the website contains a compilation of beauty pageant questions that have been asked in various pageants throughout the years. I have meticulously compiled and tabulated them, including a sample approach and answer/s for each. Please do take note that the answers here are just samples and are not advised to be memorized, nor it can guarantee winning. Stand on your feet and answer from your heart.
Woman Empowerment
At what point does a girl become a woman?
To me, a girl has transitioned into womanhood once she starts to be capable of bearing a child. From that time onwards, she becomes socially responsible as a citizen and as a woman, for she is already accountable for her actions and deeds.
Which quality of a woman gives them an edge over men?
Women are gentler, caring, nurturing, and, most of all, have longer patience and understanding because of our motherly instinct. We can bear pain longer than men. I think that’s one of the traits and an edge men should learn from women – patience.
Who do you think is more powerful, a man or a woman?
For me, there is no point in comparing the strengths of both men and women as both are not made to compete but to complement each other in their common weakness. The common need to be completed and to be loved by the other.
What is the most valuable attitude a woman should have?
The most valuable attitude a woman should have is to have faith in God. A woman who is the definition of beauty on earth should give back all the glory to God because He is the source of all things beautiful. Thank you.
How can you empower women?
There is no greater way to empower them than by giving every woman a chance to education and knowledge of entrepreneurship. Education will provide her with a degree and career, and the other one will give her a way to expand her affiliations in the society and may even give her a chance to be a leader in the community.
What is the best quality of a person to become successful in life?
What does a contemporary woman need to have to be at par or better than her global counterpart?
The best quality of a person to become successful is to have a strong, unwavering faith in God. It is because nothing in this world is perfect or absolute. Our perseverance, our ability, and our intelligence may fail us in times of great challenge – but our faith in God will leave us standing amidst everything.
What are the values of (Name of nationality or race) women that you want to preserve?
(Name of nationality or race) women should preserve their conservativeness, chastity, hospitality, and strong family orientation. We are respected because we know how to properly act, speak and dress and for being devoted to our families and to our husbands. We are unique and have exotic beauty combined with notable values. We must continue to preserve these values, which we have always been known for.
What is the role of beauty in this time of technology?
To me, the role of beauty does not end in pageants, such as this in this technological era. To me, beauty shows, emphasizes, and represents the goodness of God and that it should be appreciated and spread more through technology.
For me, beauty does not end on a pageant stage such as this. For me, beauty is the very face of serenity, goodness, and compassion, which should be spread more by technology. It balances the world from crisis and despair.
Roles and Contributions
How can you help in alleviating the ongoing crisis that the world and the country is facing today?
We think that the crises abroad are too big for us to make an impact on. However, small contributions to society actually contribute to a bigger cause. A good example would be by paying our taxes, although not immediate, portion of it is used to help our fellows. On the other hand, we can also directly provide help by sending donations in cash or in-kind to foundations that provide assistance to our fellow citizens. Let us remember that, however, small our individual efforts may be, when all of us act upon it, it becomes a giant wave of help and support.
How could you help the youth today?
I want to revolutionize information technology, online entrepreneurship, marketing, and business for the youth. I want them to have the idea that early as it may be, young people or students like me can help and become empowered. We all know that we are in difficult times, and achieving financial freedom must be learned at a young age to become independent and of help to our parents and to the society we live in.
How could we help the out-of-school youth?
The best thing we could possibly do is to conduct seminars and workshops that aim to enhance our out-of-school youths entrepreneurial skills. Through such initiatives, we are helping them not just by putting food on their table but actually empowering them to become independent and self-sustainable individuals. With these projects, we are lessening poverty plus revolutionizing the world with entrepreneurs and job providers who would soon help others too.
What is the biggest challenge to/for the youth today?
The biggest challenge to/for the youth today is learning how to steadfastly respond to the challenges of the 21st century – that is being able to hold on to what is right; to live, enjoy and inspire people to continue living with upright morals and to assume some serious roles such as being a young entrepreneur and becoming a leader to wholesome organizations.
Teenage Pageant Questions
As a teenager, what do you think is your topmost priority?
As a teenager, my topmost priority is my education. This is not just for me, but also for my family and the future family I am to have, for the society I will soon serve and to God, because what we become is our gift to God.
Are you in favor of pre-marital sex?
I am not in favor of pre-marital sex. In my opinion, the purpose of sex is the materialization of the marital obligation of man and woman – blessed and sanctified by the church – to produce offsprings for the continuous existence of man and to build happy and God-centered families.
What is wrong about abortion?
Abortion is the violation of the right to life of the conceived child in the womb of a mother. It is the same as killing or murdering a living person. Let us value the life of every individual as children of God – be it an adult, child, baby, or a conceived life in the womb of a mother, let us treat each other with respect and love.
Are you in favor of prohibiting the use of cellphones by students in schools, why?
No, I am not in favor of prohibiting the use of cellular phones by students in schools. I believe that the students are still manageable about this matter. In addition to that, educators could even regulate this issue through classroom management and diplomatic, gentle and convincing dialogues with their students.
Are you in favor of instructors and students being friends on Facebook? Why or why not?
Education does not stop within the four corners of our classrooms. Having your instructors as friends on Facebook can be beneficial. They can serve as watchful eyes and may even remind us if we are doing things right or if we are conducting ourselves properly online. They can serve as our guiding light to guide us to a successful career.
Are you in favor of an early romantic relationship?
Yes, I’m in favor of it. Having a caring and supportive partner would both serve as a motivation and an inspiration as long as we know our limitations – always remembering our parents’ sacrifices and their hopes for us in the future.
Entering a relationship is a lovely experience for everyone, but I am not in favor of it. There is a time for everything, and there are lots of things to prioritize as a student. We are not yet ready to handle such serious commitment as some untoward incidents may happen. We already have a lot of untoward incidents caused by early romantic relationships, so I am not in favor of it.
Are you in favor of sex education to be integrated into our school curriculum?
I am not in favor of sex education to be integrated into our school curriculum because this could encourage the youth to do it with their peers. I think that what we should be focusing on is wiping out the thousands of sex scandals on the Internet, pirated CDs and DVDs, close and ban bars that allow for human trafficking and check the moral values of our songwriters and movie producers. With that, we are eradicating the root of unwanted pregnancy, prostitution, and sex-related crimes and diseases.
What do you think is the biggest influence of social media to the youth?
The youth today are very smart and up-to-date because of social media. They have become more aware, but this doesn’t mean they are involved or that they care. They tend to take for granted learning family values because they prefer talking with their Facebook friends. I hope that in-depth research will be done to help us understand the effects of social media on a person, especially the youth.
Do you believe that your generation is too selfie-oriented? Is it good or bad?
Yes, I believe that my generation is. We usually take selfies when we are happy. Selfies bring hope to other people that they too can be happy; that happiness is a real thing and that it exists; that it is safe to believe, and that it is true; that behind every dark cloud, there is always a silver lining.
Do you think that the youth of today face more pressure of performance than the previous generations?
Yes. We have larger and greater problems today. We are pressured to become useful citizens. We feel that we should always be prepared to face judgment and criticism. Despite all that, I still believe that WE – the youth, are growing into mature and strong individuals, and soon we will become effective future leaders.
What can you say about the presence of pornographic materials in our society?
Pornographic materials trigger the youths’ premature sexual yearnings. They will prefer to watch or read them more than their books or put more time into seeing them than into more important matters such as bonding with their family. These young people who are into this habit could get addicted to it and completely disregard their future. This should be prevented by having a total ban on materials that promote immorality that destroy our youth.
What piece of advice would you give to victims of cyberbullying?
The value of a person never decreases to the Almighty Creator. We are all equal. And just like a ship in the ocean, it will never sink until it allows the water to come in. And just like a paper bill, its worth remains the same no matter how crumpled it becomes.
What should we do about prostitution?
Prostitution in night bars or in any other places should absolutely be stopped, for it is never moral. It must also be vigilantly watched, for it has caused innumerable broken families where children are the ones to suffer most from the lack of love they should be receiving from either of their parents.
Is chastity still important in marriage?
Chastity is still important in marriage. It symbolizes purity and total love of one’s partner by staying dignified, free from impurities of a society full of temptations and immoral activities.
I think chastity is still important in marriage, no matter how seemingly liberated times have become. To me, chastity is ensuring purity and safeguarding what is rightfully our future husband or wife’s property. To become worthy of the white wedding gown when we walk down the aisle.
Do you think being wed or marrying is still important?
A wedding is important to marriage. It is all about the threefold bond: The Man, The Woman, and God. It is a vow in front of the altar that guides the couple to respect and love each other. It strengthens the relationship of the couple and ensures the responsibility of keeping the commitment they have promised in the eyes of God, and because of its sacredness, it is but natural to give importance to marriage.
Marriage is a once-in-a-lifetime symbol of everlasting commitment for two people whose love for each other is bound by another force — God. It means putting God as a mediator in everything the couple does. Yes, marriage is all about the threefold bond: The Man, The Woman, and God —— for a successful and everlasting relationship. Thank you.
Nowadays, pre-marital sex and same-sex marriage is rampant and is being toyed around. Marriage is a symbol of undying honesty and loyalty to our partners. It is also a milestone we should achieve as a sign of maturity. It is a symbol of the union of Man and Woman mediated by God. In our modern times, the true meaning of marriage is slowly being forgotten. We often think that marriage only composes of the Man and Woman, what we fail to realize is that it is important to have God at the center of marriage. Without God, a healthy and lively marriage would be impossible to attain.
Marriage, for me, is not just about two people promising to love one another in front of the Altar. It is about a relationship bound to last forever. It is about unselfish and sacrificial love. It is about two people making a change. And it is about doing the will of God with your partner for the rest of your lives. And because of its sacredness, it is but natural to give importance to marriage.
Beauty Pageant Questions in a Situation or Condition
Choose among the 3: Miss International, businesswoman, or a law-maker?
I would grab the opportunity to be Miss International. To be Miss International is a one-time deal, an opportunity that will just knock once on my door and be able to portray a beauty queen who wears the crown in her heart and not only on her head. After my reign, I could easily take on being a businesswoman, entering law school or try whatever worthwhile career I may take an interest in.
Given a choice, which among the following will you choose – wealth, beauty, or talent?
Given a choice among wealth, beauty, and talent, I would choose beauty. Being beautiful is more than what our body says. For me, beauty is everything that is towards the likeness of God. It constitutes cleanliness in body and spirit, pureness in heart and soul, and goodness in actions and deeds by working, serving, and helping others. With those traits as my definition of a “beautiful” person, I believe that being beautiful is much more desirable than being wealthy or talented.
If you will rank the following, namely wealth, health, and family, according to their importance, how will you rank them and why?
If I will rank health, wealth, and family, I would rank my family as the most important because I could sacrifice wealth and health in a circumstance, but never my family. Of secondary importance to me would be wealth, because I am ready to throw away my health, and my personal happiness, just to see my family in good condition.
If someday you get married, how do you see yourself, a fulltime homemaker, or a career woman?
If the time comes that I get married, I see myself as a career woman who finds time to find her place and become productive in contributing for the betterment of her society and her chosen field, who still makes time to meet the demands and needs of her family.
If given a chance to be one of the judges in the Miss Universe beauty pageant, what question would you ask the candidates?
If I were a judge in the “The Miss Universe Beauty Pageant,” I would ask the candidates, “What would be your ultimate platform if you were crowned as Miss Universe?” Through that question, I could see who has the most responsible and humanitarian heart for the crown to elegantly fit into.
If you are given a chance to talk to the whole human race, what would you say to them?
This will be the greatest avenue and opportunity for me to campaign efforts in extending a hand to uplift poor societal conditions. Likewise, talk on things that will benefit one’s life, family, society, nation, and the human race, especially when it comes to promoting entrepreneurship and businesses to provide jobs to thousands of people who have yet to find a means to sustain their families.
If you would be a gem, what would it be?
I would want to be a diamond. It is a gem with the hardest character that it can cut any other gems which I would like to associate to a person who has a strong conviction and personality. Diamonds are made and shaped by nature over for a long time, experiencing different and painful changes. Thus, a person who has become strong from all the trials he has encountered is beautiful, like a diamond.
If you are to time travel, when or where would you go and why?
I would like to go to the place and time where Jesus lived; to see His face, meet the apostles; witness the greatest miracles, and serve Him. I think there is no greater glory and honor than to witness firsthand all the miracles and live with Jesus, our God, Whom we give all the praises and glory.
If you receive an indecent proposal during the pageant, what would you do?
If I receive an indecent proposal, the best way to deal with it aside from being indifferent to the person is to report it straight to the organizing committee. This will frighten the person who offered because it will be known by other people. Moreover, I do not wish to entertain nor think of such a thing happening, for I know my worth, and I pride myself on my values. I do not want to tarnish our good family name.
If women were to rule the world by 2050, how different would the world be?
Women are gentle, caring, nurturing, and, most of all, have longer patience and understanding because of our motherly instinct. Because of these, we would have a peaceful world because we have what it takes to be an effective motherly leader. As Albert Einstein has taught us: peace cannot be achieved by force, it can only be achieved through understanding. And a woman leader can be very understanding.
On the night of your honeymoon, your husband confessed to you that he is gay, what will you do?
I had loved him even before we were married. With a confession like that and on the night of our honeymoon, married, blessed, and sanctified by the church, I ought to love him even more – more so for his honesty – for what he was, what he is and what he will be.
I would still love him for what he is. I believe that marriage is a tie that no one could and should break. It is a vow made at the altar in front of every witness and of God. A promise that guides the couple to respect and love each other, to strengthen and ensure the responsibility of keeping the commitment as sanctified by the church.
What would you advice to a 7-year old child who wants to be a beauty queen someday?
I would encourage her to pursue her dreams and discover that there is more to beauty pageants than meets the eye. I would tell her that joining beauty pageants develops one’s discipline and personality. I would say to her that beauty queens are not just there to wear the crown but also to help the community and to become good role models and inspirations of hope to the people.
Social Issues
Are you in favor of sex change?
I am not in favor of sex change. The primary purpose of our procreative power is for the marital obligation of man and woman to produce offspring for the continuous existence of man. The physical and emotional differences, not only the sex organ, determines the sex. A person who has undergone sex change would not be able to perform the extended responsibilities of a father or a mother to a child. Sex change will cause the disruption of humanity’s continued existence and will result in confusion. I am not in favor of it.
Should plastic surgery be allowed in beauty contests? Why?
Plastic surgery should not be allowed in beauty contests. Beauty contests are a celebration of natural beauty. An act of acknowledging and honoring the beauty that God has given us and not the kind of beauty that technology could offer us.
Do you think plastic surgery is an option for those who are less fortunate in the looks department? Why?
I think plastic surgery is an option. Let us utilize the technology that God has given us for the betterment of everyone. Changing your look does not mean changing your definition as a person, as long as you remain essential and true to who you are, that’s all that really matters.
If these people are deprived of acceptance and love because of their looks, then why should we deny them the option available to everyone? It is just but right to take care, nourish and beautify our body, which is said to be the temple of God containing the heart where Jesus lives. That would be all, thank you.
If these people have been slighted because they are unfortunate in the looks department, and if they are being deprived of chances and opportunities because of this, I think it’s their right to grab the available option technology has made possible. To chase happiness and empowerment, even by means of beautification is just, as long as the heart is kept true and pure.
What is your stand on transgender being allowed in Miss Universe? Are you in favor or not?
I am not in favor. Women and transgender-women are different. Miss Universe is a celebration of women’s beauty and uniqueness. Let us, therefore, acknowledge our transgender-women on a different stage specially created for them to celebrate their own beauty and uniqueness!
Are you in favor of cloning?
I am not in favor of human cloning. It is because a baby is made through and out of love, and should not be a product of just any laboratory procedure. On the other hand, for animal cloning, we may consider it. This may serve as a gateway for new discoveries, especially for food, because it will increase our supply to answer for our growing needs.
What can you say about cyber education?
I do not think that cyber education here in the Philippines is possible yet. It entails a large amount of money that the Department of Education could really use for more immediate concerns like books, chairs, and classrooms. Furthermore, I still believe that the personal touch of a teacher is the most influential tool to educate, inspire, and motivate our students – something cyber technology can never replicate.
Are you in favor of the reinstallation of the death penalty?
Life, the very foundation of existence, is a one-time gift from God. Taking that gift away is a sin. It is because only God – the fountain of life and the very source of this wonderful gift, is the only One who has the right to take it away.
Are you in favor of the Reproductive Health Bill?
The Reproductive Health Bill has become an issue for both the government and the Church. Contraceptives are already out in the market today. So I think it should only be sold appropriately to couples who are no longer teens or can present marriage proofs. Furthermore, any violation in selling contraceptives must be punished by the law so that the youth would think twice before engaging in pre-marital sex, which may lead to unwanted pregnancy. If this will be considered in the Reproductive Health Bill, I will be in favor of it.
As a youth who supports the development of life to the fullest, I am in favor of a safe, healthy, and responsible family lifestyle. However, I do not support nor favor the Reproductive Health Bill. It is because the said bill is not the solution to overpopulation – the very objective of the RH Bill. The focus should be on the improvement of literacy, education, and moral uplifting of the country.
What can you say about extrajudicial killing? Do you agree? Why? And why not?
I do not agree with extrajudicial killing or any form of killing per se. I think extrajudicial killing is putting justice in the hands of the wrong people who kill without mercy and without any due process to prove the victim’s innocence or otherwise. More so, I fear that with extrajudicial killing, people would go mum and become fearful to stand up for truth, and maybe name the personalities who are guilty of violating rights and committing the biggest crimes. I think any place would be a nicer place to live in if EJK can be ruled out, and due process be followed for the attainment of real justice.
As a youth, what can you learn from celebrating (Name of celebration)?
(Name of celebration) is not only about the celebration, happiness, and fun. It also serves as a thanksgiving to the blessings we received here in (Place of the pageant). It is also an embodiment of the unified people of (Place of the pageant) that we, the people here, can unite and be one for one cause and one love for our beloved place.
Leadership and Government
What is the most important value of a leader?
The most important value of a leader for me is flexibility. A leader needs to be flexible to cope up with our fast-changing world. What are the 3 qualities a leader must have?
A leader must, first of all, have a compassionate heart because it is the very foundation of good leadership and service to the public. Second, he must have patience since his plans will not materialize instantly. Lastly, he must be a visionary so he can discover the numerous possibilities of how he can be of service to his fellowmen, especially to the less fortunate.
Which do you prefer, a male president or a female president?
I do not think that there should be a debate on whether or not a female or male president is better. To me, as long as the president is true and sincere to his endeavors to eradicate poverty and graft and corruption, effective in meeting and providing for the needs of the country, a true model of good deeds and inspiration, and a just leader for the whole country – then gender is not an issue; he or she could be the most qualified president for the country.
How can we attain world peace?
“Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved through understanding.” This idea of Einstein contemplates for nations and world organizations to help prevent war and bridge the gap between rival nations through peaceful communication, which is a bloodless means to attain true and lasting world peace.
What can you say about the economy of our nation?
Considering the predicament of our nation and weighing the necessary economic reformation needed and already set into motion, I think that we would be able to make it. Given more time, the possibility is not far-fetched because we produce thousands of eager young minds who graduate every year. They are all potential and future nation and economic builders.
How do our OFWs contribute to the economy?
Our Overseas Filipino Workers contribute to our national treasury through their dollar remittances; thus, increasing our capacity to transact business with foreign countries using our dollar stock. Aside from that, our 10 million OFWs assure that 10 million families live decently, safe from socio-economic depression. Furthermore, OFWs who will go back and settle for good in our country will surely make investments, consider putting up businesses in the country, and be able to help and provide jobs to hundreds of jobless Filipinos.
Science-Related Pageant Questions
What is the essence of your element fire?
The essence of fire as my element is non-material or not quantifiable when it comes to effect. It simply means that its importance is immeasurable. Fire was used by ancient people in alchemy or art devoted to discovering a substance that would convert metal into gold or silver. Because of fire being one of the four important elements, hundreds of different chemicals were discovered, and thus, chemistry was born as a science.

What if you were a hermaphrodite?
I do not think being a hermaphrodite is something I should be concerned about since there are already scientific ways to treat and modify nonfunctioning sex characteristics and give due emphasis to functioning sex characteristics. Technology has already made it possible for conditions like hermaphroditism to become bearable, live-able, and to be cured in a way.
